Liverpool have been tipped by Danny Murphy to complete a ‘big’ attacking signing this summer to go straight into the starting XI.
The clock is ticking on the transfer window and with just 20 days to go until it slams shut, the club will need to get a move on to sign new players.
Danny Murphy expects his former side to make one more signing and he thinks it will be a big one.
🤷♂️ 𝗗𝗠: “Liverpool did not match #MCFC when they won the league!”
🤔 𝗦𝗝: “Really? A £75m CB and a £75m goalkeeper isn’t matching City?”

Speaking live on talkSPORT, Murphy said: “There is still a chance Liverpool will make one big one.
“I think so. An attacking one. In the attacking third. I personally wouldn’t sign anybody, if I was Klopp unless I thought they could go into the XI.
“If you can get one that can play instead of Firmino or instead of Mane then sign him. But there aren’t many about.”
Liverpool are in need of more attacking depth and not necessarily an attacker to come in and propel Klopp’s side to the very fore of the Premier League title race.
Jeremy Doku could be the ideal signing
Liverpool have Sadio Mane, who has made left-wing his own over the last five years and is arguably the best in that role in England although his form last season leaves that up for debate.
They then have Mohamed Salah, who is undoubtedly the best attacker in England and has been since he moved back to the Premier League and he has ensconced himself on the right wing.
Centre forward is where Liverpool struggled the most last season although it’s unclear whether or not Diogo Jota staying fit could change the picture for the Reds.
Except that’s the problem – one problem and a lack of form from one of the regulars and Liverpool seem to be quite easy to stop going forward.
Roberto Firmino’s pre-season form looks very promising but he has shown a tendency to tail off as the season progresses.
Signing Jeremy Doku – who Liverpool want and would cost €45million (£38.1m), according to Voetball24, could be the best way to provide competition for the front three without also causing friction between the current crop.
It’s a tricky job and one I certainly don’t envy but at 19, the Belgian speed demon is good enough that he can make an immediate impact while would also be able to develop steadily alongside the best attackers in England.
