Contract offer ‘laughed off’ by Liverpool star: New shocking contract saga unfolding at Anfield

Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk have agreed to sign new contracts at Liverpool, but the Merseyside giants are now facing another protracted contract saga. Two Reds have turned down offers of a new deal, and a new saga is about to begin at Anfield.

Salah’s contract extension was announced earlier today, but a clause in his new deal will allow him to leave as early as next year, if things do not go according to plan.

Virgil van Dijk’s new deal is expected to be confirmed imminently, and Liverpool are looking to ensure that they nail down a couple of young players on new long-term deals in the coming months.

However, it has been claimed that two young Liverpool stars have turned down offers of a new deal, as they push the club to get more money from the Merseyside giants.

Can you name the team Liverpool signed these players from?

Young Red laughs off a new contract offer from the club

Liverpool journalist Dave Davis has revealed to Anfield Index that Conor Bradley and representatives felt that the initial offer from Liverpool was a joke, and they would have to reward him with a massive pay rise from his current  £10,000-per-week contract.

“The first offer Liverpool made to Conor Bradley was literally laughed at because it was that small”, he said.

“All of the chips are on Bradley’s side of the table, and he will want Liverpool to prove that they want him.”

However, the situation around Curtis Jones is more worrying as he is a local lad and has rejected the first offer from the Merseyside giants.

Davis insisted that while the midfielder is still expected to sign a new deal, the club will have to show that they value him before he agrees to fresh terms.

“The info I have got over the last few days surprised me about Jones’ situation”, he added.

“Curtis Jones has turned down Liverpool’s latest contract offer. For a player who has grown up at the club, come through the ranks, and is now an England international, that’s a red flag.

“He has just two years left on his contract, and he will be the ‘Scouser in the team’ once Trent Alexander-Arnold does leave.”

“So again, he is going to be looking at their deals and thinks he is worth that value. I expect that one to get done because he loves Liverpool and wants to stay, but FSG aren’t going to get away with this cheaply.”

Both players have two years left to run on their current contracts.
