Confirmed news gives Liverpool transfer kitty to finally complete £103M move

Standard Chartered

Liverpool have confirmed that Standard Chartered will remain the club’s biggest sponsor for another FIVE years!

According to the Liverpool ECHO, “There has been no official value placed upon what the new agreement is worth but, having had conversations with other prospective sponsors in a bid to find the current strength of the market and where the value of their sponsorship should lie in comparison to rivals at home and abroad, the Reds have received a major uplift to achieve their goal of ensuring that they are on par with the very biggest clubs.”

With the transfer window still open, there’s still time for new incomings but the likely outcome will see Liverpool close the summer with just the three additions in Darwin Nunez and teenagers Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay.

While adding a midfielder is a priority in my eyes (and many fans), Klopp and FSG have made it clear they will not make stop-gap signings.

Liverpool could quite conceivably make a huge success of the 2022/23 season without any other signings.

So it might be time to start pushing hard to sign Jude Bellingham at the end of next season when Borussia Dortmund will be more receptive to offers.

It’s been widely reported that a £103M bid is what’s required and with Liverpool’s sponsorship now sorted for a long time, the Reds will be well aware of their finances ahead of potentially breaking their transfer record for a second time in two years.

Virgil van Dijk was previously Liverpool’s most expensive club signing but Darwin Nunez now holds that title.

The Reds have committed themselves to paying £61M upfront with up to £24M in add-ons taking the deal to a total of £85M.

While he didn’t cover himself in glory against Manchester United, missing a sitter to the joy of United fans, he was playing with blisters and “lungs ready to explode”, according to Jurgen Klopp.

Darwin Nunez

Bellingham seems to be the missing piece of the puzzle for Liverpool but time will tell whether or not the Reds win the race to sign him.

United had their eyes on him before he joined Dortmund and the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid are sure to fight to sign him as well.

The 19-year-old seems to have been around for half a decade yet he’s still a teenager and there seems to be no limit on how good he could become.

Hopefully, the next phase of his development takes place under the close watch of Jurgen Klopp and Pepijn Lijnders.
