“I haven’t seen”: Cesc Fabregas says £67M Liverpool star has a passing range he hasn’t seen “since” a Barcelona legend

Cesc Fabregas and Trent Alexander-Arnold

Premier League legend Cesc Fabregas has come out to praise one of Liverpool’s stars by comparing Alexander-Arnold to an all-time great.

The former Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona star has come out and compared Trent Alexander-Arnold to the legend that is Dani Alves.

Fabregas played with Alves at Barca during the glory days over 10 years ago and his latest remarks will definitely bring a smile to any Liverpool fan.

It’s not every day you get compared to one of the best right-backs of all time.

Fabregas on Trent

The newly-signed Como player praised Alexander-Arnold following his performance against Crystal Palace – in which he completed five key passes from right-back.

I haven’t seen a full back with this range of passing since Dani Alves,Fabregas claimed.

He also created two big chances, attempted 10 crosses, 19 long balls and had 79% accurate passes.

The comparison is fair as Trent has revolutionised the full-back role and stands as one of the best creators in Europe, despite playing in defence.

Alexander-Arnold has a sensational record from right-back

Since coming into the Liverpool side in 2017, Alexander-Arnold has been a revelation at right-back. He has transcended the full-back role into something entirely different.

The young fullback is worth €80M (£67M), according to Transfermarkt, although it’s my guess Liverpool would value him at double that – not that they would ever sell, of course.

Still only 23, he’s already got 62 assists for Liverpool and has won every trophy available to him including the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

The Scouser has become one of the most adored players at the club since breaking through and he has never looked in doubt of losing his place in the side, constantly pushing himself to new levels.

Whereas his defending is something that can be improved upon, his attacking quality is something that is the envy of every other team in the country.

When he retires from football we imagine there will be a whole host of assist records from Trent that may never be broken by a defender.
