Liverpool is not just the only team looking to bolster their side during the transfer window. Rivals in and outside of England are looking to pip the Merseyside club. Both Bayern Munich and Manchester United have pulled ahead.
Liverpool are currently in the market to reinforce different areas of the field. The need has been compounded with subpar performances and expiring contracts. Several players find themselves not sure shot starters.
Pool’s recent run of four defeats exposed a lot of chinks in their armour. Rivals will be ready to pounce when the time comes. Therefore, it is crucial to stay ahead of others.
But it seems Anfield has slipped up on two counts.

Marc Guehi has been ongoing saga for the Reds. The Frenchman had one foot inside Anfield. Crystal Palace had agreed to a fee of £35 million but the deal collapsed last moment. But things have changed since then.
According to reporter Christian Falk, Guehi’s representative Gordon Stipic was spotted in Munich. Sporting director Christoph Freund is playing an important role in the conversation.
Anfield remains interested in the player but there are off-field blockers. Palace manager Oliver Glasner and Freund are former colleagues from their Red Bull days. They are in regular touch and Guehi also fits into Bayern’s long term transfer philosophy.
Manchester United move before Anfield
The Old Trafford club are in touch with AC Milan for their star player Leao. According to reports in Spanish outlet Fichajes, they have also offered £86m or 100 million Euros for the player.
United are in need of No.6 in the park. Amorim failed to land Carlos Baleba in the summer. But the club is exploring other options as well, including the Portuguese.
Liverpool were earlier reported to have some interest in the player. Even Manchester City are interested, although both of them are yet to make an offer to Milan.
