A Ligue 1 expert suggests there could be major developments in the efforts to Aurelien Tchouameni next week after the player provided a coy response to a transfer enquiry.
The 22-year-old is highly rated and his next step is being closely watched after his 2020 switch from Bordeaux to AS Monaco saw his stock with European clubs skyrocket.
With 8 France caps and 49 appearances for the principality outfit this season, it’s clear that the midfielder is highly valued with his role in the middle of the park a vital one for AS Monaco.
He is so vital to the Ligue 1 club that fans held placards at an open training session on Wednesday that read “Aurelien, don’t leave”.
When asked about his intentions this summer, he replied: “It’s true that there are a lot of people that are hoping to see me stay. That makes me happy because it shows that I’m doing good work.”
He continued, “As I’ve said before, what is certain is that there is one more match in Monégasque colours against Lens and after that, we’ll see what happens.”
🚨 Real Madrid are NOT in the race for Aurélien Tchouaméni this summer, unless there is a major sale. They can't afford his price tag.
The Frenchman is likely to head to the Premier League.

Refusing to deny transfer interest amid major speculation over a move to Liverpool, Tchouameni has sparked further conversation regarding a move to Anfield.
After speaking to Sports Illustrated’s LFC Transfer Room about a Liverpool move to sign Tchouameni, Ligue 1 expert, Sacha Tavolieri, has spoken again about how a move could advance next week.
He first called a move for the French international “one of the biggest priorities of the scouting staff of Liverpool”.
Now, speaking to Empire of the Kop, Tavolieri says: “I can say to you that the interest for Tchouameni is really high. They [Liverpool] consider getting this player as one of the priorities during the transfer window of this summer.
“The most interested club in battle with Liverpool is Real Madrid but Liverpool has a way in advance on his concurrents for the moment
“Things could move next week because the opponent of the Reds on that race has not given up yet. “
