Uruguayan journalist Brahian Kuchman reports that Liverpool have made an opening offer to sign Darwin Nunez from Benfica as Jurgen Klopp’s appreciation for Liga Nos grows.
The Benfica forward starred against the Reds in the Champions League quarter-final second leg and was unlucky to have a couple of goals chalked off.
Despite that, he still scored two goals in the tie as Liverpool won 6-4 on aggregate and Klopp seems ready to take his interest to the next level, Kuchman reports.

Klopp tired of praising the forward “to such an extent he will end up hiring him”
The German manager praised Nunez before the second leg of the Champions League tie with Benfica.
While speaking at his pre-match press conference, Klopp said: “(He’s an) extremely good-looking boy and a decent player as well!
“Physically strong, quick, was calm around his finish when he finished the goal off.
“Good, really good. Obviously how you say in these situations, if he stays healthy, it’s a big career ahead of him.”
Kuchman reports: “Jürgen Klopp has grown tired of praising the Uruguayan to such an extent that he will end up hiring him.”
Liverpool have made an offer for Nunez at “the last moment”
According to the Uruguayan journalist, Liverpool have made an offer to sign the forward at the “last moment.”
Kuchman reports: “There would be a first agreement for Darwin Núñez to be a new English Liverpool player. ”
According to Empire of the Kop, Liverpool will be offered the chance to sign the forward this summer with Jorge Mendes now co-representing him in the UK.
His £125million release clause will not be an issue as Benfica will reportedly accept around £66m for his sale which makes signing him much more palatable.
How would Nunez fit in at Anfield with their incredible attacking depth?
Nunez would have no problem fitting in at Anfield but he is another player capable of playing at centre-forward and on the left-wing.
In Sadio Mane, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota, Liverpool have more than enough players like that in their ranks at the moment.
That said, if Roberto Firmino or Takumi Minamino were to join Divock Origi in leaving the club this summer, it could open room to sign Nunez.
But not for £66m. That’s still too much for a relatively unproven player.
