Liverpool had probably one of the best transfer windows in the club’s history. Now, from data to football personalities, everyone is afraid of the Reds’ potential.
CIES Football Observatory’s model gave Liverpool a 28.9% chance of winning the English Premier League this season. Their model takes into account all the variables that contribute to league title wins.
They have modelled 29 leagues around the world and only time will tell if their predictions hold water. Arsenal came in second with a probability of 18.8% and Chelsea was third with a probability of 16.2%.
Interestingly, Chelsea legend John Terry believes that the title is Liverpool’s to win. The former Blues skipper explained how the Reds are the stronger team this season.
“I think the title is theirs, to be honest. I think they have a big motivation from the very sad loss of Diogo Jota, which they always have in mind. I really hope Liverpool do it for that reason alone, I think they are the stronger team”, he told talkSPORT.
The former Chelsea skipper also told the media how the late Diogo Jota plays a role in this. He claims that the loss alone will be one of the biggest motivators for the team.

Mikel Arteta claims Liverpool is the strongest in the league

Mikel Arteta backed the statistics and John Terry when it came to Liverpool’s scary team building through the summer. The Spanish manager already lost to the Reds before the international break and will be hoping to hold up the flag to compete for the league title.
“They are the strongest for sure. They have recruited the two most decisive players who were in Europe in the market, and they did really well to do that. They were very, very strong, and we need to look at ourselves and what we have to do in terms of our abilities to be better than them”, Arteta told the press.
“It is not about Liverpool, but the league in general and how difficult it will be with the level that it is to be so consistent and win the number of matches you need to earn the right to win the title. That is going to be a really long run for all of us.”
Mikel Arteta believes that the league itself will be a challenge itself like always. Arsenal stand third in the Premier League standings, as their only loss this season was at Anfield.
