Despite the dip in form, Arne Slot has surely achieved some incredible things with Liverpool. Winning the English Premier League in his first season is no small feat, as only three Reds managers before him have been able to achieve that.
It’s not only about winning the Premier League, but even securing silverware at a Big 6 club is a tremendous feat in itself for a manager’s first season in charge.
At the moment, though, the Reds aren’t in shape following three straight losses in a row. Interestingly, all of them have been away, and three of the four have been in London.
Crystal Palace defeated the Merseysiders twice this season as Oliver Glasner is on a 19-game unbeaten streak with Marc Guehi leading the Eagles.
Things might’ve looked different if Guehi was able to make that move in the summer, but it looks like Fenway Sports Group have shifted their focus to their manager.
Arne Slot new contract talks

According to Sky Sports, Slot’s agent is working on a new contract as talks are in progress with Liverpool. The Dutchman’s contract expires in 2027, as FSG wouldn’t be keen on letting the gaffer enter his final year of the contract with uncertainty.
The club has seen how that works out with Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving as the Englishman left for Real Madrid when his contract wasn’t renewed.
Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah still stayed, though, but they aren’t here for long. Ibrahima Konate might follow in the footsteps of Trent as the Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of this season.
There are ongoing talks of an extension, but Konate also has his eyes set on the Santiago Bernabeu. Slot might have his contract renewed before the Frenchman, if it ever happens, but he will immediately need to look for replacements next year.

Arne Slot’s Liverpool career
Slot also became the first Dutch manager to win the English top-flight. Only five other Dutchmen have managed a big 6 team, with Erik ten Hag coming the closest to the title, finishing 3rd with Manchester United in the 2022-23 season.
Last season, Slot managed to help Liverpool make the best start to a season in English top-flight history, winning 11 out of 12 games across all competitions.
The Dutchman didn’t stop there as he went on to win 36 out of his first 50 matches in charge, a record for a Liverpool manager. With a renewal in sight, FSG will be hoping to see Slot’s magic continue as they’ll be hoping that the current performance dip is temporary.
