Aberdeen have given Finnish winger Topi Keskinen permission to travel to Denmark as a transfer to Odense moves closer to completion this weekend.
Odense have tabled a deal worth more than £1 million for the 23-year-old, with the agreement expected to be concluded over the coming days.
The Danish club’s offer includes several add-ons, meaning Aberdeen are set to make a significant profit on the player they signed from HJK back in 2024.
Record Sport had exclusively revealed Odense’s interest in Keskinen last month, and that interest has intensified considerably in recent days.
Aberdeen had been determined to secure good value on their Scottish Cup winner, and the club has achieved exactly that with this deal.
Competing interest from elsewhere threatened to complicate proceedings, with Hungarian side Debrecen submitting several bids that were all turned down by the Dons.
Croatian club Hajduk Split had also expressed interest in Keskinen, underlining the level of demand for the flying winger across Europe.
Manager Stephen Robinson will now turn his attention to the transfer market in search of a replacement winger to fill the void left by Keskinen’s departure.
Robinson has already been busy revamping his squad this summer, with sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel also generating additional funds through other outgoing transfers.
Pfannenstiel secured further income through the sale of Alexander Jensen to Elfsborg, adding to the club’s growing transfer revenue this window.
Nicolas Milanovic is also set to return to Western Sydney Wanderers, while Marco Lazetic is in the process of being sold to FC Noah.
Aberdeen head to Northern Ireland on Saturday to face Linfield in their final pre-season fixture before competitive action begins.
The Dons open their Premier Sports Cup campaign against Brora Rangers next week, marking the start of what promises to be a reshaped season under Robinson.
