Rangers are leading the summer transfer charge in Scotland, with Derek McInnes already bringing in five new signings ahead of the new campaign.
Reports suggest the Ibrox club are closing in on a deal worth around £4.5 million for Partizan Belgrade midfielder Vanja Dragojevic after a £3.7 million bid was rejected last week.
McInnes has also been linked with a move for Bologna skipper Lewis Ferguson, though the Serie A club value their captain in the eight-figure category.
Marco Negri, who scored 36 goals in 43 matches for Rangers, offered his view on the Ferguson situation while speaking to Il Resto del Carlino.
Negri said: “Lewis comes from a family that has Rangers in its blood. The club is doing great this year, and if they make a good offer, there’s a risk he’ll leave. That said, I have complete faith in Bologna: the transfer market is long and has yet to actually begin.”
Celtic have been comparatively quiet but are now accelerating their business, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain penning a one-year deal to remain at Parkhead.
Colombian striker Camilo Duran has reportedly agreed terms on a move from Azerbaijani side Qarabag, with the frontman said to be undergoing a medical ahead of the switch.
Former Celtic striker Scott McDonald has urged the club to also pursue Motherwell’s World Cup star Elijah Just, adding another name to the list of potential arrivals at Parkhead this summer.
Aberdeen confirmed the departure of Alexander Jensen, who has returned to Sweden with Elfsborg in a deal that sees the Dons recoup the £500,000 they paid for the Danish full back in January 2025.
Jensen said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Aberdeen and the memories of winning the Scottish Cup will last a lifetime. I had a good opportunity to return to the Allsvenskan with Elfsborg, and I think the move works well for both parties.”
Aberdeen boss Stephen Robinson said of the departure: “We received a good offer from Elfsborg for Alex and it’s one we all felt was right. Alex is a great lad who always gave his best for the Club, but I was honest with him in saying that he probably wouldn’t be an automatic starter next season.”
Aberdeen forward Marko Lazetic is also poised to depart Pittodrie, with the 22-year-old Serbian completing a medical ahead of joining Armenian club FC Noah.
Lazetic arrived from AC Milan last summer but managed just four goals in 36 appearances in all competitions during his spell with the Dons.
Steven Gunn, who left Aberdeen last September after 25 years of service, has been confirmed as the new Director of Football at Dutch Eredivisie club ADO Den Haag.
Gunn said he is “proud to be part of ADO Den Haag,” describing the club as one with “a rich history, passionate supporters, and clear ambitions for the future.”
Goalkeeper Jack Butland has spoken out after leaving Rangers in a £3 million deal, with Croatian stopper Ivor Pandur moving to Ibrox in a £6 million move as part of the arrangement.
Butland described his Ibrox exit as “bittersweet,” admitting he did not want to leave and now faces a fight to be Hull’s first-choice keeper, with the club also pursuing Napoli stopper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.
Celtic face competition in their pursuit of Hertha Berlin goalkeeper Tjark Ernst, with Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach also targeting the 23-year-old, who has a £4 million release clause.
Elsewhere, Dunfermline Athletic have signed left-back Luke Robinson from Wigan Athletic on a two-year deal, while Sean Dillon has committed to another year at Montrose ahead of his 43rd birthday.
