Could Liverpool complete a fourth and final summer signing to protect their cahnces of winning silverware?
Hearts are pushing to complete the signing of teenage attacking midfielder Cormac Daly, with the Tynecastle club confident of sealing an agreement.
The 19-year-old became a free agent after departing Nottingham Forest, where he had spent the previous three years of his development.
Daly originally came through the ranks at Hamilton Accies before earning his move south to the City Ground.
During his time with Forest, the young Scot gained valuable experience on loan, impressing at Hereford United in the National League.
He also featured regularly for Nottingham Forest’s under-21 side and had a previous loan spell at Lincoln City a couple of seasons ago.
The deal for Daly is expected to be just one of several arrivals at Hearts as the club prepares for a significant summer of recruitment.
Incoming manager Wouter Vrancken is set to be unveiled imminently, with the former St Truiden boss confirmed as Derek McInnes’ successor.
Hearts are eager to appoint a top-level coach capable of maximising the potential of their Jamestown Analytics signings, a priority that remained central even after losing the league title on the final day last season.
A €1 million deal for French wide man Sabri Guendouz has already been agreed, with the player set to be confirmed after undergoing a medical in Edinburgh.
Guendouz will join fellow new arrivals Josh McPake, Malachi Fagan-Walcott, Calvin Miller, MJ Kamson-Kamara, and Amadou Ba-Sy at Tynecastle.
A deal for French midfielder Tom Renaud from Versailles is also understood to be close to completion.
Hearts have additionally been linked with PEC Zwolle striker Koen Kostons, though any move would require a club-record fee with the Dutch side demanding around €3 million.
That potential transfer could be funded by the sale of Claudio Braga, who is currently attracting interest from Lyon.
Hearts have made their position clear, insisting they will only consider offers for Braga starting at a minimum of £8 million.
