Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Rodez wide man Taïryk Arconte, with competition from other clubs already emerging for the 22-year-old.
French outlet Foot Mercato claims Celtic have joined Ligue 1 side Auxerre and English Championship club Millwall in expressing an interest in the Guadeloupe international.
Arconte enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season, registering 14 goals and four assists in 36 appearances across all competitions for the Ligue 2 outfit.
His impressive form helped Rodez reach the Ligue 1 promotion play-offs, raising his profile significantly across European football ahead of the summer window.
The right winger still has two years remaining on his contract at Rodez, meaning the French club holds a strong negotiating position in any potential deal.
Arconte was born in Les Abymes, the most populous commune in the overseas French territory of Guadeloupe, and has scored three times in seven caps for the national side.
The winger previously represented France at under-19 level before switching his international allegiance to Guadeloupe, where he has quickly become a notable presence.
Before arriving at Rodez, Arconte built his career through spells at Pau FC, Brest, and AC Ajaccio, gaining valuable experience across French football.
Celtic’s transfer pursuit comes at a time when the club has yet to confirm their permanent manager, with Robbie Keane and interim boss Martin O’Neill competing for the top job at Parkhead.
That uncertainty has done little to slow transfer speculation, with the Hoops also linked to goalkeeper duo Nikolas Polster and Jari De Busser in recent weeks.
Schalke midfielder Soufiane El Faouzi and KS Cracovia centre back Oskar Wojcik have also been mentioned in connection with a potential move to Celtic this summer.
Adding a pacey and productive wide player like Arconte would represent a significant piece of business, though landing him will require outmanoeuvring serious competition from top-tier European clubs.
