Hearts have completed the signing of winger Calvin Miller from Falkirk on a deal running until 2029, with the move described as a six-figure transfer.
Miller becomes Derek McInnes’ third signing of the summer, joining Josh McPake from St Johnstone and defender MJ Kamson-Kamara from Lincoln City.
The 28-year-old was named Falkirk’s player of the year after a standout Premiership campaign and topped the top-flight assists charts with nine league assists.
Miller made 132 appearances across three years at Falkirk after joining from Morton, scoring 32 goals and helping the club rise from League One to the Premiership.
His arrival comes as Hearts continue to strengthen ahead of a Champions League qualifying second-round tie against either Fenerbahce or Sturm Graz next month.
Miller said: “I’m buzzing. It’s been in a pipeline for a while, so I’m just glad that I’m finally here.”
The winger, who had been linked with Celtic, is eager to experience European football for the first time and believes the Jambos provide the perfect platform.
He said: “Hearts are a massive club and I think you’ve seen what they’ve done last season. Straight away everyone wants to be a part of that.”
Miller was clear about his motivations for making the move, citing the club’s European ambitions as a major draw.
He said: “They’re playing in Europe this year as well, so I’d love to get myself in amongst that.”
The wide man spoke passionately about what he hopes to contribute on the bigger stage of European competition this season.
He said: “Who doesn’t want to play in Europe? You get a chance in the Champions League qualifiers to then go and progress and then if not then it’s Europa League and that’s a big stage.”
Miller credited Falkirk for reviving his career and acknowledged the role the club played in helping him reach this level.
He said: “I’m thankful to Falkirk because they essentially got my career back on track. The gaffer there, they helped me through thick and thin and every season was a success.”
Reflecting on Falkirk’s impressive top-six Premiership finish last season, Miller said the achievement exceeded most outside expectations.
He said: “It was an amazing season. I think everyone probably would have had us down for relegation as it was our first season back up and with the budget we had.”
Miller also addressed Hearts’ away support, having faced them three times last season without winning, and expressed excitement about now having that backing behind him.
He said: “I came here three times last season and didn’t come out with a victory in the league. It’s electric and now I’m just happy I’m going to come out the other side of it and have their full support.”
Meanwhile, Hearts are closing in on further additions, with the club near to agreeing a deal for Versailles midfielder Tom Renaud.
Rouen striker Amadou Ba-Sy is also set to join the club in a move worth around €200,000, while midfielder Cammy Devlin remains in contract talks despite interest from MLS clubs and English sides.
