Hearts midfielder Cammy Devlin has not closed the door on extending his stay at Tynecastle despite significant interest from clubs in England and the MLS.
Representatives for the 27-year-old are still in discussions with Hearts chiefs over a new deal while simultaneously exploring options elsewhere.
Devlin’s current contract expires at the end of the month, but his name was absent from Hearts’ list of players departing under freedom of contract.
Two clubs south of the border and three MLS sides have shown interest, though only Hearts and one unnamed American club have made concrete offers.
New York City were previously linked with the Australian international but are not among the clubs currently presenting options to the player.
Devlin is currently in California with the Socceroos as they prepare for the World Cup, where a final decision on his future is expected to be made.
The midfielder has made 172 appearances for Hearts since Robbie Neilson signed him from Wellington Phoenix in the summer of 2021.
That emotional attachment to the club means Hearts remain firmly in contention to secure the fans’ favourite on a new deal.
The Jambos have been active in the transfer market, signing defender MJ Kamson-Kamara from Lincoln City as part of their summer recruitment drive last week.
Josh McPake arrives on a pre-contract from St Johnstone, while a deal for French midfielder Tom Renaud is reported to be close.
Hearts are also in talks to sign striker Amadou Ba-Sy from Ligue 2 side Rouen, but bids for York City defender Malachi Fagan-Walcott have so far been rejected by the National League champions.
The club has already experienced significant departures, with skipper Lawrence Shankland leaving Tynecastle after four years to sign for Rangers last week.
Beni Baningime, Frankie Kent, Alan Forrest, and Lewis Neilson also departed the club under freedom of contract during the same period.
