Liverpool have the highest probability of winning the Premier League this season, according to the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES).
The research group concluded after using their model to make predictions regarding the English Premier League, La Liga and 27 other leagues around the world.
The Reds have a 28.9% chance to win the Premier League according to the model, as they stand more than 10% clear of second-placed Arsenal.
Arsenal stood at 18.8% as the Gunners still believe in their saviour, Mikel Arteta, to lead them to Premier League glory. Chelsea came in third above Manchester City, as their probability stood at 16.2%.
The Blues have been honing a very young squad, as they made English Premier League history last season by fielding the youngest line-up with an average age of 24 years and 36 days.
Manchester City surprisingly come in fourth after enjoying years of EPL glory under Pep Guardiola. Their probability of winning the league stands at 14.4%.
Recently, Jamie Carragher made some cautionary statements, though, as the 2025 One-Club Man award winner talked about Liverpool’s depth problem.
“Oh yeah, I think there’s one situation with Liverpool, that’s the one area…listen, they are three games in, nine points from nine and probably not played that well, so we would probably all say they are big favourites, Liverpool. What Guéhi was giving Liverpool competition at centre-back. They haven’t really got that. They’ve got two starters and two understudies.”

Chelsea legend John Terry believes that the title belongs to Liverpool

Despite the Reds’ shortcomings, John Terry is more favourable in his opinion. The Chelsea legend believes that the title this season is Liverpool’s to grab.
“I think the title is theirs, to be honest. I think they have a big motivation from the very sad loss of Diogo Jota, which they always have in mind. I really hope Liverpool do it for that reason alone, I think they are the stronger team.”
“I think Man City have shown weaknesses again this season. I’m not sure Chelsea have enough experience within the squad to challenge them, and I also don’t want to put any pressure on the Chelsea players. I think the title is Liverpool’s to lose and I wish them luck with that”, he told talkSPORT.
Terry explained how the loss of fan favourite Diogo Jota will be a big motivator for the boys. The former Chelsea skipper also wished that Liverpool win it just for that reason alone.
