Liverpool have had impeccable recruitment over the last few years.
The club continues to find players for affordable fees who fit into their team and excel. When the club signed Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch, eyebrows were raised. However after seeing how the duo have performed under Arne Slot this season, no one has any complaints. The duo cost around €80million.
Liverpool have also been great at using homegrown talents in their squad. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jarrel Quansah and Conor Bradley come to mind.

Liverpool find out transfer fee for major target
This summer, the club will be looking at the transfer market to revamp the squad. Arne Slot has reportedly asked for new faces in attack. The Liverpool boss has been frustrated with Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez this summer. Over the past few months, the reds have been linked with a move for RB Liepzig star Xavi Simons.
Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that the 21-year old will have a huge €75million price tag:
“The feeling from sources close to the process is that Xavi Simons could be available for a fee of around €70-75m (£58-62m) in this transfer window, which is a potential big opportunity for many top clubs who’ve been following Simons’ rise since he was a wonderkid at Barcelona, a gem at PSG before becoming a star at PSV Eindhoven,”
“The same Premier League clubs attentive to Xavi’s situation one year ago, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, are still very well-informed on developments around the Dutch talent.”
Liverpool will battle with Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea for the Dutch international’s signature.
Is Xavi Simons worth €75million?
Xavi Simons is a great player, but Liepzig are overpricing him with that reported fee. The midfielder is not productive enough to be worth that huge fee. Simons has just 15 goals over two seasons. There are many other targets Liverpool could get for that price. Including Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike. The Frenchman also plays in the Bundesliga but has 19 goals in all competitions this season.
Liverpool need to assess if they really need a player of that profile and if he is worth it.
