Liverpool are expected to spend big to support the excellent work carried out by Arne Slot this season. The Premier League-winning manager will have major funds to spend, but it seems Arsenal are set to spoil his plans of signing a major star this summer.
The Liverpool manager wants a substantial revamp of his squad in the next window, and the club are prepared to back his vision for the team next season.
Sporting director Richard Hughes has already been working on multiple deals, and the club are keen to sign as many as five new players in the next transfer window.
Anfield has become a major attraction for several players, but it appears Arsenal are set to beat Liverpool to one signing purely based on the star’s personal choice.

Premier League hitman chooses Arsenal over Liverpool

Aston Villa are expected to sell Ollie Watkins this summer to raise funds from the market and remain within the Premier League’s PSR guidelines.
Liverpool are interested in signing him, but there were suggestions the forward would be keen to move to Anfield to get a chance to compete for major trophies.
However, former Premier League scout Mick Brown has revealed Arsenal have the edge in the race as Watkins was their fan growing up.
He would choose Arsenal over other options if the Gunners table a bid to sign the 29-year-old striker again after missing out on him in the winter window.
“Watkins would be interested in a move to Arsenal”, Brown told Football Insider.
“He was an Arsenal fan as a youngster and feels he could become their main centre-forward.
“From an Arsenal point of view, they’ve been interested in him for a long time and of course they made that offer for him in January which was turned down.
“If he is going to be available this summer, as has been suggested, they’ll definitely be in the mix.”
