Liverpool are moving fast in the market to ensure Arne Slot has his squad more or less ready for pre-season training in the summer. Richard Hughes is knocking down deals he has been working on for months, and one more player has agreed to move to Anfield.
Hughes and his recruitment team have been working hard behind the scenes over the last few months to ensure the club are ready to move on targets towards the end of the season.
Liverpool are on the cusp of signing Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong as their first signing of the summer after triggering his £30m release clause.
The dynamic sporting director has moved on to one more target with pace, and it seems the club are set to be on the cusp of finalising his arrival in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Reds agree on personal terms with top target

Milos Kerkez has been Liverpool’s top target for months, and Hughes has been working on a deal to sign him from Bournemouth for some while.
Manchester City and Real Madrid have also shown an interest in him, but Hughes’ early work on the deal has ensured the Hungarian only wants to join Liverpool.
The Merseyside giants are in talks with Bournemouth to work out an agreement, but Kerkez has given his nod of approval to the move.
According to TEAMTalk, the defender has agreed to a five-year contract offer from the Reds, and full personal terms are expected to be agreed upon soon.
Liverpool are still trying to negotiate down Bournemouth’s asking price, which is believed to be in the region of £40m and £45m.
However, with the player keen on the move, Liverpool believe it’s only a matter of time before they can work out a fee with the Cherries for the transfer.
