A third league game of the season looms for Liverpool with the Reds being winless thus far.
Travelling to Old Trafford to face a struggling Manchester United team, there is an opportunity to really kickstart the campaign.
Improvements from the last two games will be vital to securing three points on Monday night.
Jurgen Klopp will need a huge effort and performance from his side and they must do so without several key players.
In terms of what can be improved, I think there are a couple of clear answers.
Firstly, how open the team is when defending counter-attacks must be changed.
During the Crystal Palace game, in particular, Liverpool dominated possession but this played into the opposition’s hands.
With Patrick Vieira setting his team up with five defenders and Wilfred Zaha up front, it was clear how they would play.
Looking to move from their defensive third into their attacking third quickly with minimal passes and exploiting the space in behind.
Perfectly showcased by the opening goal on the night, Fabinho, who is valued at €60M, was caught high up the field and Trent Alexander-Arnold was nowhere to be seen.
This left Nat Phillips to deal with Zaha all by himself and in a foot race, this would never end well.
With Joe Gomez set to step into the starting lineup this week, pace should be less of a concern but the midfield should also be helping in this area.
Depending on who plays on the right-hand side of the midfield three, Fabinho will have a big responsibility.
Altering his positioning to be closer to his centre backs and communicating to his colleagues in the middle of the field will help.
It has appeared that the Brazilian is being left alone to do a lot of the defensive work himself but there is just too much space to cover.
Another change to potentially get the most out of the game is to involve Mohamed Salah more.
The Egyptian has been somewhat isolated in both league games so far.
Being the most effective and efficient forward in the team’s arsenal, Salah is key to earning points and winning games.
Following on from a hat trick in this fixture last season, the winger will be keen to get on the scoresheet again.
Salah being more involved leads to more chances for players around him as he is not only a great goal scorer but an incredible creator also.
While it may seem obvious that tightening the defence and scoring more goals is the key to winning games, it will require hard work.
Despite the poor form of the Manchester side, no fan should be expecting an easy game with the size of the rivalry in question.
Klopp will no doubt have his players motivated and ready for the game and in the mood to put things right.
