Liverpool’s young prospect Stefan Bajcetic starred again last night against RB Salzburg.
The Reds may have lost out 1-0 on the night but the young Spaniard impressed once again in the first team.
Having already starred in the win over RB Leipzig in a half-an-hour performance that drew praise, he earned 60 minutes against Salzburg and showed his quality again.
Long term he could be the answer to Fabinho in that defensive midfield role.

Bajcetic’s performance
His performance earned plaudits on social media, with many claiming he was Liverpool’s best player alongside Fabio Carvalho.
In terms of his defensive statistics last night, he won 8/9 defensive duels won and 4 recoveries in total.
But he was impressed with his technical ability and passing range with 24/28 passes completed, 5 passes into the final 3rd and 2 passes into the penalty area.
His ability to play forward and help begin attacks is a sign of a very talented player and one who has a lot of potential for the future.

Bajcetic wants to play regular football
Despite being only 17, the midfielder is hoping for regular football this season.
Speaking to Liverpool’s official website ahead of the Salzburg game, the midfielder revealed how he’s enjoyed pre-season so far and how he’s learning from the senior players.
“It’s been very good. It’s a very good experience for young lads to play in Thailand and Singapore and travel with the team. It’s been good,” the Spaniard admitted.

“Everyone has been good with me. Luckily, I can speak Spanish as well, so I can speak with everyone really.
“It’s been good,” he said of operating in the holding role. “I always played centre-back growing up but now I think I’m capable of playing there. If they give me the opportunity, I will.
“To be honest, I don’t mind [where I play]. I just want to play football. If the staff and coach thinks I’m needed there, I will play there. Especially for this club, the way he [Fabinho] plays, I think, is the best, and I always try to look at him and learn from him.”
