Liverpool join the race to sign RB Leipzig playmarker

Mundo Deportivo reports that Liverpool are believed to be interested in signing Dani Olmo, midfielder for RB Leipzig and a Spanish international, this summer. Numerous other teams are reportedly interested in signing him, and they say the Reds are "prepared to make the leap".

With Jurgen Klopp leaving, it is anticipated that the Reds will have a busy transfer window. It is said that the Reds hierarchy are eager to allow Arne Slot to bring in a number of players during this window.

In addition to trying to consistently compete with Manchester City and Arsenal in the Premier League, they also want to be a familiar figure in the Champions League.

Arne Slot's side continues to prioritise a centre defender, as previously said, although there have been remaining reservations on the prospect of a new midfield player, with Teun Koopimeiners, Ederson, and Orkun Kokcu all being linked alongside Dani Olmo.

Since the Spaniard thinks much more forwardly than many of the previous players have, he would likely to play as a No. 10 and conventionally behind the striker, who is probably Darwin Nunez, in the upcoming campaign.

It is anticipated that Liverpool will have more than enough money to cover the Spaniard's £50.5 million price tag this summer, given that resources are reportedly available for Slot.

The 26-year-old is nonetheless eager to take on the possibility of a new challenge having previously said:

"I am open to possibilities that may arise, but I am going to give you a cliche: I am focused on the first match of the Euro Cup".

The Reds will still need to compete with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United in order to acquire Dani Olmo, even if they may now be in the lead.

The Spanish star may be drawn to the Reds considering Leipzig's previous dealings with the Reds over former teammate Ibrahima Konate.
