Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly in the running to sign Leeds United's Crysencio Summerville, according to Leeds Live.

It's said that £35 million might be enough to get his services.

Both are yet to move for the 22-year-old, who had a strong season earning the Championship Player of the Year accolade.

Having made a significant influence in the last campaign, scoring 21 goals and providing 10 assists in 49 games across all competitions.

The Dutchman is reportedly eager to move to the Premier League after a difficult finish to the season in which he narrowly lost to Southampton in the Playoff Final.

Both the Reds and Blues have been connected to further striker reinforcements; Michael Olise of Crystal Palace being linked with both, although Chelsea more so than Liverpool.

The Reds have also been connected to a number of players, recently Kenan Yildiz of Juventus, although neither have got off the mark in the window yet.

If either team were able to get the Leeds United winger, it would almost certainly imply that they would withdraw from the competition in order to sign Michael Olise or possibly Eberechi Eze, who has also been connected to Eddie Howe's Newcastle United in recent days.

Time to Blink?

As was already noted, neither have made a move yet, and it is well known that the Reds attempted to sign the Dutchman previously but were unsuccessful.

Personally, much while I would love to sign Summerville, I don't think he would receive enough playing time to truly grow; instead, I think Chelsea would be a better fit for him because of the opportunities he should have.

Wingers are a more common source of issues for the West London side. If we were successful, it may take some time before we saw the Leeds star to show off his skills for the Liverpool club because Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz, and Mohamed Salah would all be higher on the pecking order initially.

But because Salah just turned thirty-two, it could be wise to get someone of Summerville's calibre before his price goes through the roof.
