Fabrizio Romano confirms Thiago Alcantara will be at Anfield next season

Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara is not in talks with Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ahli despite claims on Thursday.

French outlet L'Equipe claimed that Liverpool had received an offer for the Spaniard with widespread speculation linking him with a move to Saudi this summer.

However, all signs have pointed towards Thiago being committed to Liverpool for the 2022/23 season. It would be irresponsible to sell him after already selling Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that he has already rejected "several" offers to move to Saudi.

After losing James Milner as well, Liverpool cannot afford to lose another senior midfielder.

The season ahead is shrouded in uncertainty from a Liverpool perspective but Thiago could be a shining light for Jurgen Klopp.

Of course, it's largely dependent on his fitness. There's no question the former Barcelona midfielder is talented - he's one of the best central midfielders of his generation.

Having already missed 66 games through injury since joining from Bayern in 2021, it would be amazing to see him remain fit for the entire season.

His £225,000 contract runs until next summer so this may be the last season fans get to see him at Anfield.
