"Will put pen to paper": David Ornstein provides hugely exciting update on long-term priority for FSG
David Ornstein reports that while Mohamed Salah is not as close to signing a new deal as some outlets have suggested, the expectation from Liverpool is that he "will put pen to paper" on a new deal.
The Egyptian was contained by Manchester City for large parts of the two sides' 2-2 draw at the Etihad on Sunday but they were unable to prevent his inch-perfect pass to Sadio Mane for the second equaliser.
In recent weeks, the 29-year-old has certainly not been himself but it would be ridiculous to suggest that a player who has scored 28 goals this season while assisting 11 times is not worth a massive bumper deal.
The hugely positive update from David Ornstein is that there is an expectation from his sources that Salah will compromise on his demands and "will put pen to paper" on a new deal whether it's in the coming weeks or months.
