West Ham submit bid for Liverpool's €50m midfield target - would be perfect for Klopp's system

Liverpool's €50m target has been subject to a bid from West Ham due to the latest reports - could Liverpool be at risk of losing their man?

The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for a midfielder this summer which has only intensified in recent weeks due to their injury woes.

With Thiago out for up to six weeks, fans are clamouring for a midfield signing to fill the void with Sporting's Matheus Nunes being heavily linked for a move this summer.

However, Liverpool have come under extreme competition from fellow Premier League clubs West Ham and Manchester City - could they miss out on their long-term target?

Latest reports on Nunes

The latest reports reveal that West Ham have become the second PL team to bid for the talented midfielder. Wolves earlier in the window had offered big money but the player rejected the move in the hope of moving to a Champions League-level club.

According to Record, West Ham have submitted an offer of €30 million + €5 million in add-ons for Matheus Nunes, but Sporting are holding out for €50 million.

Klopp has also revealed today that Liverpool won't move for a new signing unless it is the 'right player' amidst all the pressure from fans to sign a new player.

The Reds are likely to rely on their young talent to navigate through this tricky spell, with Harvey Elliot entrusted with more minutes as part of the midfield three.

With moving parts involving Barcelona and with three weeks left of the window - it would be naive to rule out any business for Liverpool.
