Not Konate - €58m monster will be at pre-season from day one his latest tweet has confirmed

Virgil van Dijk has confirmed that he will be at Liverpool pre-season training from day one after he took to Twitter to confirm his readiness.

The 2021/22 Premier League season is a chance for Liverpool to bounce back and remind the world just how good they can be because many seem to have forgotten.

Injuries at centre-back decimated their chances of success last season but with Ibrahima Konate set to star at the back and as Virgil van Dijk returns from an ACL rupture, they should be the ones to watch.

Konate is expected to be a world class player in the future and after Liverpool triggered his £36million release clause to sign him from RB Leipzig, his stock is at an all-time high.

Alongside him will be the best defender in the world, Virgil van Dijk. He's valued at €58million (£49.5m) by Transfermarkt but his real worth is well over £100million.

While his recovery is not over, being able to get the benefit of a full pre-season camp will be hugely advantageous and his ability to avoid re-injury should increase.

Having van Dijk back, in my view, guarantees Liverpool at least 12-15 points more than they got this season as his ability to stop attacks is unbelievable.

He has no obvious flaws and despite being a giant at 6ft4, he is very quick. The Dutchman is also one of the best passers in the Premier League.

The ability to launch attacks from centre-back has limited the options available to Jurgen Klopp and his return is like a major new signing.
