Sadio Mane scored Liverpool’s second goal against Bologna with a Fernando Torres-esque goal by taking the ball around the goalkeeper.
The Italians gifted the English side with another goal but the no.10, like Jota for the opening goal of the game, still had a lot of work to do.
Mane almost waited for the goalkeeper to come off of his line which gave him more time and space to drag the ball around him and finish into the back of the net.
It was the type of finish the Kop grew to expect from Fernando Torres while the Spaniard was at Anfield and while it’s only pre-season, it’s the kind of goal that is an absolute joy to watch.
I don’t want to jinx it but it looks like Sadio Mane has returned from pre-season rejuvenated and ready to improve on what was a poor 2021/22 season.
By his high standards, the Senegal forward was poor but during pre-season, he has looked sharp, energetic and seems to have regained the yard of pace that he seemed bereft of last season.

Last season, Mane scored 16 goals and assisted 9 for his teammates which, all things considered, isn’t an awful return but he will be hoping to improve on that return in the season ahead.
With Liverpool looking to win more silverware, Mane will be crucial again and if can return to top form – Jurgen Klopp’s job will be made that much easier.
If he can also regain his ability to breeze past Premier League defenders with ease, the Reds will find their task of reclaiming the title less daunting.
