Video: Diogo Jota shows great composure to score against Athletic Bilbao

Diogo Jota opened the scoring for Liverpool vs. Athletic Bilbao as the Reds get closer and closer to the first game of the Premier League season.

Liverpool fans returned to Anfield in full voice in the sun in the penultimate pre-season friendly of the summer.

Athletic Bilbao were the opposition and after recent 30-minute and 60-minute fixtures, the Reds were faced with the first, full-length 90-minute game to test their stamina ahead of the new season.

Liverpool face Norwich City in a week's time and the Merseysiders have looked sharp.

The Portuguese forward scored with a sensational finish across the goalkeeper after a clean interception from Naby Keita.

Sadio Mane received the ball from the Guinean, who after a tidy touch, played his attacking teammate in and Jota made no mistake.

The home crowd, on their return to Anfield, roared in appreciation for Jota and while all the talk has been about Liverpool's lack of transfers, it's clear that the season will make fans forget all about the lack of activity this summer if results go our way.
