Diogo Jota made it 1-0 against Bologna with a cool finish after being gifted a chance in front of the goal.
Liverpool are in Evian as their pre-season camp winds down with the 2021/22 Premier League season just around the corner.
In the first of two 60-minute friendlies, Jurgen Klopp named a strong lineup that featured a first start for our no.4 Virgil van Dijk.
After the Reds closed down the Bologna defence, Jota, who has been nicknamed Liverpool’s ‘pressing monster’ by Pep Lijnders, was gifted with an absolute gift of a chance.
He controlled well but he had some work to do as he dribbled past finished past a centre back before he finished past the ‘keeper to score the Reds’ first goal of the game.

Writing in his training camp diary, Pep Lijnders paid special homage to Jota: “We are just arriving up into the mountain for our team dinner while I’m writing.
“Probably schnitzel again, but that’s not bad at all. While I’m sitting here and writing, Diogo just shook me ‘awake’ saying hello. It’s great to see him – fresh, fit and ready.
“Our pressing monster just arrived! Haha!”
