Thrilling €60million forward 'expected' in Liverpool tomorrow - paperwork needs to be completed

Luis Diaz is expected to arrive on Merseyside tomorrow as he begins life as a Liverpool player after completing a €60million move to Anfield.

The 25-year-old could make his debut for the Reds against Cardiff City in the FA Cup at the weekend although it does seem unlikely as he has yet to train and there's no need to rush him into the side.

It was so refreshing to see Liverpool sign Diaz. When we learnt of Spurs' offer to Porto, I fully expected the club to sit by and let them sign the forward but when they ramped up their interest, I was shocked.

But it has to be said that when FSG want to get a transfer done, they move with haste and are ruthless.

The Fabio Carvalho saga was a bit unfortunate and if you're being kind, you'll give them some credit because an agreement was reached with Fulham but it was just too late.

Diaz is the signing Liverpool really wanted and besides, Carvalho would have been loaned back to Craven Cottage for the remainder of the season anyway so it wouldn't have made a massive difference to the Reds' chances of success.

I must admit that I'm not growing impatient as I just want to see Diaz make his debut but at least it's not like a summer signing where you're teased with meaningless 30-minute cameos in pre-season friendlies which are more like glorified training sessions.

We should be able to see the speedster very soon and although Sadio Mane will likely still be Klopp's go-to starter, it's going to be fascinating to see the impact Diaz has on the former Southampton star.

If it gets Mane to score 25% more than he was going to and takes Liverpool to a higher level then Diaz will already have paid back a portion of his wage and transfer fee by the end of the season.
