Report: 'Way clear for Liverpool' to sign €25m winger after La Liga side had a €15m bid rejected

Liverpool can reportedly sign Bournemouth star Arnaut Danjuma without challenge as Villarreal cannot afford to increase their bid from €15m.

While Jurgen Klopp and Pep Lijnders are working hard to get Liverpool's existing squad in shape for the start of the Premier League season, Michael Edwards is at work to get the club's affairs in order.

Liverpool are interested in Arnaut Danjuma

According to trusted Spanish publication Marca, both Liverpool and Villarreal are interested in signing the Bournemouth winger this summer.

They report that the Europa League champions have already had a €15m bid rejected and are unwilling to ‘do anything crazy’ to get their man.

Meanwhile, they claim that this leaves 'the way clear for Liverpool' to make their move for Danjuma but they don't say whether or not the Reds will act on their interest.

According to Marca, Bournemouth's asking price for the forward, who scored and assisted 25 times last season, is €25million.

Would Danjuma be good for Liverpool?

As already mentioned, the 24-year-old isn't goal-shy and also contributes heavily to build-up play as he is superb at dribbling.

His last season in the Premier League saw him score zero goals so it's unclear if he's matured at the exact moment he's been given more opportunities or if he's more suited to the Championship.

If it's the latter, Liverpool's scouts will be well aware but if it's the former, I really hope they don't wait for him to join a team like Leicester.

If they wait for his value to shoot up to £40-50m over the next three years as we've seen happen with the likes of James Maddison, they could regret it hugely.

We've seen the same thing happen with Patson Daka this summer who I can almost guarantee will be scoring 20 goals per season at some stage during his Leicester career.

Danjuma, however, would be a decent gamble at €25m.
