"The Nunez show!" Liverpool full-back sings the praises of £85M summer signing

Liverpool romped to victory in Germany last night as new summer signing Darwin Nunez rattled four goals to silence his doubters.

Mohamed Salah got the ball rolling with a vintage early opener but it was the Uruguayan who starred.

Having lost to Manchester United and then beaten Crystal Palace, the Reds have clicked into gear with just over a week to go until the Community Shield against Manchester City.

But it was the £85M signing who stole all the headlines and earned praise from Jurgen Klopp, the fans, pundits and teammates alike.

"Second half obviously was the Darwin show"

Speaking to Liverpool's official website after the game, Andy Robertson waxed lyrical about the striker's performance who scored four goals in 42 minutes.

He said: "Second half obviously was the Darwin show, which we're obviously delighted about.

"Getting off the mark and then adding another three, it's not too bad!"

Nunez will be expected to hit the ground running in this highly attacking Liverpool with fans hoping for a high return in the Premier League.

He also spoke about adapting to playing with the former Benfica forward and how well he's adapting to this Liverpool side: "It always takes time to get used to new signings. We've all been through it ourselves, so it's no different.

"Maybe there's outside pressure on him in terms of the fee and everything like that, but to us, it doesn't matter."

He added: "We know they have to take time to get used to our system, get used to our style of play, to get used to how we want them to play and things like that.

"Today will give him a lot of confidence in terms of in front of goal and everything, which is obviously so important for a striker.

"But it's just about having a bit of time with him, having a bit of patience, and we've got that and hopefully the Liverpool fans have it as well."
