Spurs told to sign £140,000/week Liverpool star but "if he’s leaving, he’s going to a PSG"

Spurs have been told to sign Jordan Henderson by Jamie O'Hara but he does admit the Liverpool skipper is above the Lilywhite's level.

The Englishman, who reportedly earns £140,000 per week with the Reds, is locked in negotiations over a new contract.

Last week, however, the Liverpool camp was rocked by the news that Henderson could leave after The Athletic reported that PSG and Atletico Madrid are interested.

The Spurs Web cites former Tottenham star Jamie O’Hara as telling talkSPORT: “I would love him at Spurs. He is everything we need.

“He’s a leader. A character on the pitch. He’s a driving force in midfield. I would absolutely love him to be at Spurs.

“But we cannot get someone like him. I don’t think we are on that level.

"If he’s leaving Liverpool, he’s going to a PSG. I cannot see him ever going to Spurs.”

I love that O'Hara says that Henderson is everything Spurs need and a real leader when they already have Harry Kane.

The striker is supposedly England's captain but I don't think I'm being biased when I say that Henderson is by far the better leader.

Not just on the pitch but off it as well.

Comparisons between him and Kane aside, Liverpool cannot let Henderson leave.

The former Sunderland midfielder might struggle to play 50 games a season and he might not have the best recent injury record but his influence in the changing room and on the pitch when fit is undeniable.

I said it when the news first broke, if Liverpool aren't going to extend Henderson's contract, that's pathetic.

But they absolutely cannot let him leave the club until his contract expires and I couldn't care less about the financial repercussions.

We as fans deserve to have a leader like him at the club for as long as possible and given he's our first title-winning skipper in three decades, letting him leave the club as if it means nothing would be yet another indictment on FSG's out of touch ownership.
