Jurgen Klopp is reportedly "thought to be a keen admirer" of Serge Gnabry and Fabrizio Romano reports the German is in crunch talks over a new Bayern Munich contract.

The 26-year-old is one of the best wide-attackers in the world and signing him would bolster Liverpool's attack even more although fitting him in is something that would require some problem-solving.

The two-footed forward, who used to play for Arsenal, is out of contract at the Allianz Arena in 2023 and so the biggest clubs around Europe are sniffing around.

Liverpool, according to Goal, are one of those interested in signing Gnabry but only as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah as the Egyptian remains locked in contract negotiations with the Reds.

Real Madrid and Juventus are also keen on securing his signature with the latter usually particularly keen on free agents given the lack of risk involved.

Bayern Munich sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, is "working on final details to complete both Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui deals" as well as "negotiating with Serge Gnabry's agents to discuss his contract extension."

Romano adds: "Structure of guaranteed salary and add-ons a key factor in the negotiation."

Currently, Bayern Munich pay Gnabry €8m/£7m per season and he is looking for an increase on top of that. His wages are around £153,000 per week and so any increase will take him close to or above £200k per week.

This season, he's scored 14 goals and assisted 10 and last season he got 11 and 7. In my opinion, he's not yet at the level where he should be considered as a potential Mohamed Salah replacement but if he's arriving at a discount similar to Thiago, I wouldn't say no.

I just don't want to sign him if it means Mo has to leave first. Liverpool have to make keeping the Egyptian their priority otherwise they risk setting themselves back.
