"We are already thinking about Liverpool": £68million Klopp target says Real Madrid are already focused on CL final

After becoming a Real Madrid hero on Wednesday evening, 21-year-old Rodryo says Los Blancos are already thinking about facing Liverpool.

The Brazilian scored two stoppage-time goals to claw his side back into their Champions League semi-final tie against Manchester City before a penalty from Karim Benzema in extra time sealed an emotional and historic win for Real Madrid.

After Liverpool beat Villarreal 3-2 on Tuesday evening (5-2 on aggregate), it's now confirmed that they will face Carlo Ancelotti's side in Paris in the final.

It's going to be an incredible showpiece when the two sides meet at PSG's Stade de France and after Real Madrid defeated the Reds 3-1 in the 2017/18 final, there is history between these two sides.

He simply said: "We have a score to settle."

While Liverpool still have a Premier League campaign and an FA Cup final to attend to, there is going to be intense coverage and pressure regarding the Champions League final.

Rodrygo, who was a £68m target for Liverpool earlier this year, said after the game that Real Madrid are already shifting their attention to the final.

He said: "We are already thinking about Liverpool. We have league games left to prepare for it."

The Reds are going to have to be at their absolute best to beat Madrid and will hope to avoid becoming the third English team to be scalped by Ancelotti's men after Chelsea and City conceded a combined 11 goals across 4 games.

Rodrygo, who has 8 goals and 9 assists in 44 games for Real Madrid this season, has been very good this season and while he's not expected to start in Paris, he will likely be a dangerous player to contend with from the bench as Man City discovered on Wednesday evening.

He struck twice from the bench to take the game to extra time and while I'd like to believe Liverpool would never capitulate like that, conceding twice in the first half against Villarreal has me feeling a bit insecure if I'm honest.

That said, concentration levels will hopefully be higher in the final but Liverpool will need to be brave and prepared to take more risks against Madrid than they were before the interval at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
