Report: Liverpool working on offer for world class striker and he's valued at just £13.5m

Spanish publication Fichajes.net reports that Liverpool are readying an offer to sign Luis Suarez, with Transfermarkt valuing the world-class striker at £13.5m.

With Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino dipping below expected scoring levels this season, it seems as though Jurgen Klopp is considering bolstering his attack as he looks to return his side to the top of the Premier League table.

The Liverpool duo has scored just 13 goals between them this season while new signing Diogo Jota has shone, scoring 10 himself while the world-class Mohamed Salah has notched 25 times this season.

Luis Suarez, in his debut season for Atletico Madrid, has scored 19 goals so far and will surely score more as he bids to win La Liga ahead of his old teammates at Barcelona. Diego Simeone's team is four points clear of the Catalonians.

While he's no spring chicken at the age of 34, Suarez is still one of the best no.9s on the planet and could once again be a blessing for the Kop. He scored 31 goals and assisted 17 in his final season at Anfield and the former Ajax star would fit in right alongside Mane and Salah.

His arrival would boost the Reds' attacking options, meaning Klopp would have all of Mane, Salah, Jota, Firmino and Suarez to choose from on a weekly basis. It would also mean the Reds would not need to depend on Salah so much.

In the Premier League, Salah has been directly involved in 60.4% of Liverpool's goals which makes it a miracle he hasn't gone missing due to injury.

Fichajes.net claim that Mohamed Salah's departure from Anfield would be enough to fund a deal but that wouldn't be necessary and it's unlikely that the Egyptian will leave the club even in spite of the poor season the Merseysiders have had.

According to Transfermarkt, who value him at just £13.5m, his contract with Atleti expires in 2022 which means the Reds wouldn't need to spend too much to bring him back to the Premier League.
