Real Madrid receive massive double injury boost ahead of Liverpool clash

Marca reported on Friday that Real Madrid welcomed Eden Hazard and Toni Kroos back to training ahead of their La Liga fixture against Eibar whereafter they will host Liverpool.

The Reds will visit the Spaniards in a heavyweight clash in the Champions League on Tuesday evening after they play Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

After Toni Kroos suffered a recurrence of the abductor issue that has been plaguing him, he was withdrawn from the German national team and there were fears among the Real Madrid camp that he would miss the game against Liverpool.

Sergio Ramos, Dani Carvajal and Fede Valverde are all certain to miss the Champions League fixture and while Marca write that Hazard will be on the bench, his inclusion will pose a threat to Liverpool.

The Belgian is well accustomed to damaging Liverpool after his years in Chelsea saw him regularly cause the Anfield outfit major issues. Ozan Kabak and Nathaniel Phillips are solid as a duo but both struggle with long balls over their head - something that Hazard and Vinicius Junior could exploit.

The main threat to Liverpool's chances of reaching the semi-finals is the form of French striker Karim Benzema. Now out of Cristiano Ronaldo's shadow, the former Lyon forward is flourishing and has 29 goal contributions this season.

The exact same as Mohamed Salah.

With Sergio Ramos out of the tie, Los Blancos will need to make attack their best form of defence as Salah, Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane could have a field day against the likes of Raphael Varane.

Neutrals will be looking forward to watching Liverpool take on Madrid and with the former away from home in the first leg, they are the favourites.
