Hint from Pep Guardiola suggests that Alisson and Fabinho could be available vs. Leeds

The Manchester City manager was speaking at his pre-match press interview as he prepares his side to face Leicester City and said that he thinks Ederson and Gabriel Jesus will play against the Foxes.

The Spaniard told his pre-match press conference: "Right now, I think they are going to play - I don't have other instructions."

FIFA, at the behest of the Brazilian FA, have banned several Premier League players for five days after they collectively refused to join the national team for the recent international break.

The Manchester Evening News reported yesterday that talks were underway between the Premier League and the Brazilian FA to reach a "sensible solution" but with an official announcement yet to be made, Guardiola's hint is the most concrete hint we have to go on.

If Gabriel Jesus and Ederson are free to play for Manchester City, it makes sense that Alisson and Fabinho will be eligible to play for Liverpool while Raphinha will be allowed to face the Reds.

That said, given that Everton and Richarlison weren't sanctioned, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if some clubs were given reprieves while others weren't.

The Mexico FA has withdrawn its complaint against Raul Jiminez so he will be able to play for Wolves tomorrow and so it slowly seems as though common sense will prevail but with international breaks scheduled in October and November, it remains to be seen what will be done to avoid the same thing happening further down the line.

Liverpool will be keen to get back to winning ways after Chelsea held them to a 1-1 draw at Anfield before the international break and while a trip to Elland Road isn't the easiest way to do so, Jurgen Klopp will believe his side has the tools win on Sunday.

Roberto Firmino is injured and it seems Takumi Minamino has picked up an issue as well but aside from that, Liverpool might be able to field a full-strength side if their Brazilians are available.
