"I'm sure they're going to": Salah reveals what Liverpool players did in the dressing room after Villarreal victory

Mohamed Salah says that after reaching the Champions League Liverpool final, Liverpool players were drinking and celebrating in the changing room.

What a game and what an achievement from this side. They've reached their third Champions League final in five years under Jurgen Klopp.

They've now reached every final possible this season and for better or worse, they will play every game available to them in the football calendar.

While the players might have given us a heart attack in the first half, the second half performance was simply outstanding.

Luis Diaz truly changed the game but the interplay between Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and the Colombian was sensational and far too much for Villarreal to handle.

"Everybody is happy inside. I'm sure they're going to celebrate, drink a little bit but we have a game next week so we have to focus on it as well.

"We'll celebrate today and tomorrow we just go from there."

Celebrations are certainly in order and no doubt well deserved but with the chance to achieve an historic quadruple, I'm certain that the drinking will be kept to a minimum.

Salah underlined his commitment to excellence in his interview by revealing that he had set himself a target of 40 goals and 10-15 assists this season.

So far this season, the Egyptian has 30 goals and 15 assists so he faces an uphill battle to score 10 goals in his remaining 6 games for the 2021/22 season.

However, if he can find the goalscoring form he had before he left for AFCON, anything is possible.
