Chelsea gem worth £60m could hurt Liverpool today despite report he's unhappy and Reds are aware of his unrest

From the outside looking in, Mason Mount might be Chelsea's most dangerous star now that Romelu Lukaku has reportedly been dropped ahead of Liverpool's trip to Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder has been directly involved in 12 Premier League goals this season with 7 goals and 5 assists which is the most of any English player and is already his joint-best return in a single league campaign.

The unrest at Chelsea has seemingly come out of the Blue as Romelu Lukaku told Sky Sports he wants to return to Inter Milan and that he's not happy with Thomas Tuchel.

However, a report from the Daily Star we previously disregarded might actually hold some insight into the state of things at Chelsea now that Lukaku's discontent has been revealed.

The report claimed that Mount was 'frustrated and feeling ‘underappreciated’ due to the way he is treated by Chelsea in comparison to other high profile players and is ready to leave if the situation isn't rectified.

Liverpool were mentioned by a source close to the player as a potential destination and Jurgen Klopp has spoken highly of the midfielder in the past, saying the ace is “for sure a £60m player, if not more.”

While Lukaku will be absent today, Liverpool are always more prone to conceding to a player like Mount, Christian Pulisic or Callum Hudson-Odoi.

They're far more fluid between the lines whereas the Belgian is quite easy to read but he is clinical when the ball falls to him in the box.

Liverpool need to be very wary of Chelsea today as they will be unpredictable after the Lukaku fiasco but special players like Mount rise to the fore on big occasions so the Reds need to be ready to deal with his presence.
