Erik Ten Hag considering triggering £125m star's release clause but he's already agreed personal terms with Liverpool - report
Manchester United are considering paying Darwin Nunez's release clause but Liverpool have already agreed personal terms with him, according to reports.
The Reds will look to replace Divock Origi this summer when his contract expires and after getting a close look at him, Nunez has reportedly been earmarked as a target.
This season, the 22-year-old has scored 34 goals for Benfica and has received widespread attention from the big clubs in Europe.
Liverpool, according to reports, have made an opening offer for Darwin Nunez, agreeing personal terms with the forward.
Jurgen Klopp was highly impressed by Nunez during the Champions League quarterfinal clash between Liverpool and Benfica and although the German rarely comments on opposition players directly, he made an exception which fuelled transfer interest.
“Extremely good looking boy, huh?” Klopp joked.
“And a decent player as well,” he added. “Really good, really good. I knew before, of course, but he played pretty much in front of me with his tough battles with Ibrahima Konate.
“He was physically strong, quick, was calm around his finish. Good, really good. I always say in these situations if he is healthy, it’s a big career ahead of him.”
