Liverpool's stance is clear: FSG will not sell player Jurgen Klopp called "exceptional"

Liverpool have made it clear they will not sell Caoimhín Kelleher this summer after his displays for the Reds last season.

One of the best aspects of every new season is looking forward to how young talents and players on the squad's fringes will shine despite the challenges they face.

Looking ahead, Calvin Ramsay and Fabio Carvalho are two players that are already exciting fans but the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will fight to get game time too.

Liverpool will not sell Kelleher

Liverpool do not want to sell Irish goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher this summer as they want to hold onto him for 'as long as possible'.

According to the Athletic, Liverpool are turned off by the thought of selling Kelleher.

The 23-year-old is one of the best backup goalkeepers in the Premier League and it was his performances in the League Cup last season which saw Liverpool lift the trophy.

James Pearce reports that the goalkeeper will be a number one at the highest level in a number of years but Liverpool don't want to sell him.

The hope is that he stays for at least another year.

Klopp excels at keeping players happy and Kelleher is no different

Jurgen Klopp has shown that he is talented at keeping players not in the starting XI happy with his rotation.

Starting Kelleher in the final of the Carabao Cup was a smart move as it earned the goalkeeper's faith and showed that Liverpool see him as having a key role to play.

If he remains at the club again this summer, it will likely be the same approach in the cups. Resting Alisson and starting Kelleher means the young goalkeeper gets the minutes he craves and allows Liverpool's no.1 the chance to rest.

It's not a perfect solution as Kelleher is now experienced enough and certainly talented enough to move on and become a no.1 for a new team.

However, he can continue winning silverware regularly if he stays at Anfield beyond this summer.
