Despite a drop in form this season, Liverpool's Sadio Mane looks set to stay at Anfield this summer.

The run-in to the start of the summer transfer window can be hectic. With some of Europe's biggest names being linked with moves away.

However, that has been quickly 'shut down' by Bundesliga journalist Chris Williams via his Twitter account.

In the tweet, Chris makes a very good point surround the transfer fee.

Borussia Dortmund has never spent more than £28m on a player, with Matts Hummels at £27.45m being their record signing.

Also, despite a drop in form from Mane this season, €70m would an incredibly low offer for someone who had 22 goals in all competitions last season.

There is a feeling that the future of Jadon Sancho has a part to play in this rumour. A move to Manchester United fell through for Sancho last summer as a fee could not be agreed.

However, the feeling this summer is that Liverpool will look to make a move for Sancho following another impressive season. With the international scoring 16 and assisting his teammates 21 times in 37 games in all competitions.

In an ideal world, Liverpool fans would like to keep Sadio Mane and add Jadon Sacho to what was the best attack in the world two seasons ago.

Does Mane still have a part to play for Liverpool?

it has been very well documented throughout the season that Sadio Mane's performance levels have dropped.

The Senegalese winger has seen his goal output in the Premier League drop considerably from last season. With Mane going from 18 league goals in 2019/20 to just half of that in 2020/21.

Over the course of Mane and Salah's time at Anfield, it felt that if one failed to score the other one would 'carry' their teammate. However, with 22 goals this season it has been the Egyptian who has not just carried Mane but the whole Liverpool attack.

But this dip in form should not bring Mane's future at Anfield into any doubt. Along with his form, Mane's determination should not be doubted either. We saw the attacker showing his frustration at Jurgen Klopp for not starting in Liverpool's 4-2 at Old Trafford over a week ago.

The main thing for some fans is if a player is not performing well that they still show that fire and desire to play for the fans and the shirt.

At the end of the season, Mane will have a long break until he has to return for pre-season.

This break could be a huge factor in the return of the 2019/20 Sadio Mane and hopefully another title run and win.
