Move advancing - £42.2M monster is learning English ahead of Anfield move - Liverpool preparing offer to sign him

Liverpool's midfield issues could be solved before the end of the window given their £42.2M midfield target is reportedly learning English.

The Reds have been strongly linked with a move for Sporting's Matheus Nunes and the latest reports suggest that move is advancing.

Talks of a move for Jude Bellingham for this summer were hearsay given that he will remain in Germany for another season before deciding on his next club.

For now, however, Liverpool can focus on a £42M signing of Nunes who would help elevate the team and squad and help ease any midfield worries.

Latest reports on Nunes

As reported in the Portuguese local media by Correio da Manha, Liverpool are preparing an offer to finally sign the Portuguese international.

The report claims Liverpool already know what price will be enough to secure the services of the 23-year-old.

After all, Sporting CP accepted a deal worth €50M (£42.2M) with Wolves but the 23-year-old refused to join the Molineux outfit in favour of a Champions League-level club.

As per Correio da Manha’s own information, Nunes is learning English and has even been practising a lot with Sporting’s British footballer, Marcus Edwards, to seal his move.

Any other targets?

The Reds have a long-term interest in Jude Bellingham of course, however, he will only be available from next summer despite rumours that the club are close to agreeing a deal already.

With injuries to Thiago, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for at least another month each, Liverpool are shortchanged in midfield.

This is a reoccurring theme with Thiago missing 13 games last season in the league and 14 in his debut season.

Reinforcement is needed given the build-up of games with a World Cup on the horizon.

Nunes stands out as the best option perhaps on the market for the fee being discussed, his age and his style of play - Liverpool should move to get this done for the present and future of the club.
