Liverpool might have made a €60M transfer blunder that Barcelona are reaping the rewards from

I believe Liverpool have made a mistake by not signing Raphinha and Barcelona look set to reap the rewards this season.

According to Marca, via Barca Universal, Leeds United will receive €60M (£51M) in total for the transfer of the 25-year-old.

The Brazilian’s debut against Inter Miami was stunning as he made a huge impression on Culers around the globe, playing a part in three goals.

His first-time volley to score his first Barcelona goal was a technically excellent strike and I’m already wishing that Liverpool signed him instead.

His first goal involvement came after a smart one-two on the edge of the box, exchanging passes with Pedri. He got the ball back from the teenager and played the ball into the path of Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, who coolly dinked the goalkeeper.

Liverpool have Mohamed Salah on the right wing but Jurgen Klopp doesn’t have any real competition for the Egyptian and Raphinha could have been the perfect successor to his role when his contract expires in 2025.

After his assist to Aubameyang, Raphinha scored his first goal for the Catalonians with a sweet volley, placing it beyond the keeper into the bottom corner.

His technique coupled with his high worth ethic would have made him an ideal signing for Liverpool but the Reds are also linked with Antony from Ajax.

His third and final goal involvement came after a perfectly weighted pass to Ansu Fati, with the ball bobbing nicely for the teenager to hit first time.

If Raphinha’s debut for Barcelona is anything to go by, he is going to be a revelation for Xavi this season with Robert Lewandowski also boosting the La Liga side’s firepower considerably.

Liverpool are not exactly short on attacking options themselves even if I believe adding Raphinha would cover the departures of Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi on his own.

Darwin Nunez, however, arrived this summer as the club’s most expensive signing ever and he is being tipped to fill Sadio Mane’s boots.

I think he’s going to need some time to get used to Jurgen Klopp’s style of play and adjust to the demands of the Premier League but I have no doubt that he will be another Liverpool success story in the transfer market.
