Fabrizio Romano reveals LFC's transfer priority amid reports of negotiations for £31.5m star

Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano claims that Liverpool are working on outgoings but that their priority is to sign an attacker.

Xherdan Shaqiri, Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino could all leave the club this summer as chances to play upfront for Liverpool are limited.

Even Diogo Jota has battled to break up the triumvirate of Salah, Mane and Firmino but it is important for Liverpool to add more quality up front this summer.

What did Fabrizio Romano say?

Speaking on his podcast, Romano said: “[Liverpool] are working to sell players. So, the priority also to bring in a new attacking player is to sell an attacking player.

"Shaqiri will be one of them because he has some proposals from Italy and [elsewhere], so Shaqiri will be out of Liverpool in some weeks if the right proposal will arrive.

“It’s the same for Origi. They want more than €20million (£17.1m) for Origi so we’ll see if someone will make this proposal.”

As Anfield Central reported exclusively on the 10th of June, talks over the Swiss star's future will continue in earnest after he returns from the EUROs which could be quite soon as Switzerland are third in Group A with just one point.

Their game against Hungary could be huge if Wales fail to take a point against Italy but given that Roberto Mancini's side has scored 30 goals since they last conceded, the Welsh will need to be on top form to get a result against the Group A leaders.

Why is Romano's Liverpool update interesting?

The Sky Sports reporter says that Liverpool have prioritised signing an attacker when all the talk right now is that the Reds' next summer arrival will be Florian Neuhaus as German reporter Florian Plettenberg Jurgen Klopp wants him.

Now, Spanish outlet AS reports that “everything indicates” Jurgen Klopp will make Neuhaus his second signing of the summer following Ibrahima Konate’s confirmed move to Anfield.

There is a Georginio Wijnaldum shaped hole in the Liverpool squad and Neuhaus has all the tools to be a fantastic replacement. He's six years younger, is very press-resistant and can play in a number of roles.

Transfermarkt claims he is worth around £31.5million which would be a good price for the 24-year-old.

Which attackers have been linked?

Given Liverpool's prominence, they have been linked with a host of players and it's quite difficult at times to figure out which players are genuine targets and which ones are only linked to generate clicks.

Patson Daka seems like a realistic target given RB Salzburg's connection with Liverpool which has seen the likes of Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Takumi Minamino find their way to Anfield after unique career paths.

Donyell Malen has been linked a couple of times but nothing concrete. We've been told that Dusan Vlahovic is a target but that Fiorentina will demand £60m for his signature.
