"Liverpool will..." Journo explains Julian Ward's transfer approach after completing three signings for nearly £100M

Liverpool will 'focus on outgoings' for the rest of the transfer window, according to CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs.

Having already signed three players, the Reds have been linked with midfield and attacking signings.

However, Jurgen Klopp has already claimed that he is happy with his options heading into the new season.

There are players who could be set to leave the club which could free up space for any potential signings that may arise.

Liverpool's shrewd business so far

In an interview with GiveMeSport, Ben Jacobs said: “Liverpool will focus on outgoings. They already have.

“Sadio Mane has joined Bayern, Divock Origi moved to Milan, Neco Williams joined Forest, and Liverpool doubled their money on Takumi Minamino. They have recouped already around £70M of the Darwin Nunez fee.”

Liverpool have acted very diligently in the window so far in relation to both incoming and outgoing players.

New sporting director Julian Ward hasn't missed a beat since taking over from Michael Edwards earlier this year - bringing in Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz whilst also negotiating a new deal for star man Mohamed Salah.

They've also freed up squad space by allowing Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi to leave, whilst also receiving £17M for Neco Williams - a player with less than 500 minutes of Premier League action.

Ben Davies has also agreed a deal to move to Rangers for £4M despite arriving for more than half that fee and never playing a single minute for the club in two years; another transfer masterstroke from the club.

Who could leave Liverpool?

With Liverpool boasting a rather large squad, there are players who have been linked with moves away that are certainly realistic this summer.

Nat Phillips is a contender to leave having been heavily linked with a move to newly-promoted Bournemouth on a permanent deal, having been on loan at the club for the second half of last season.

With suitors from Bournemouth, Burnley and Germany - The Liverpool Echo revealed they would most likely want a fee of around £15m for the 25-year-old and have not ruled out a loan move just yet.

Another centre-back in Rhys Williams is also likely to leave this summer on loan having seen a very stop-start season last year. The 19-year-old has been linked with a move to Blackpool.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is another linked with a move away with Aston Villa a side potentially interested in securing the 28-year-old's services.

The former Arsenal player only has one year left on his deal and is unlikely to receive regular game time with Fabio Carvalho, Harvey Elliot and Curtis Jones ahead of him in the midfield pecking order.

Other potential outgoings will be youth players moving on loan for more experience. This includes the likes of Sepp van den Berg, Leighton Clarkson, Jake Cain, Paul Glatzel and Jack Bearne.

Tyler Morton, who impressed last season, would certainly benefit from regular football out on loan but could stay as cover for Fabinho.
