Fabrizio Romano on Liverpool “exploring” opportunity to sign future superstar worth £103M

Liverpool were exploring the opportunity to sign future superstar Jude Bellingham this summer, according to reports.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has been linked with a move to Anfield this summer with Jurgen Klopp supposedly being a big advocate of the potential move.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for a midfielder in the window, but Klopp broke his silence on his midfield the other claiming he was happy with his midfield options.

Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano discussed Liverpool’s interest in the English midfielder this summer.

Despite heavy rumours of a move this summer, they were told in no uncertain terms by Borussia Dortmund that the player is not for sale.

Romano reports: “Jurgen Klopp in the last 24 hours said that he was a fantastic player and everything but he is not on the market.

“The reality is that Liverpool, immediately after missing out on Aurelien Tchouameni, they were exploring this discussion for Jude Bellingham, but it was not even a negotiation because he’s not on the market.”

He continued: “No bid, no discussion, no negotiation. Bellingham will not leave next summer, but next summer I believe he will be on this podcast every episode.”

Liverpool reportedly won’t be put off by the £103M price tag, according to James Pearce at The Athletic.

He explained why Liverpool would break the bank for the midfield star: “I don’t think that fee would scare Liverpool off as you’re talking about a player who could be at the heart of their midfield for a decade. However, the wage demands could be a potential stumbling block.”

Bellingham is among the best young players in the world and has already been capped by England 15 times despite only being 19 years of age.

We still await the results of the inaugural Golden Boy award, which features the very best young players in the world as Bellingham competes against the likes of Eduardo Camavinga, Pedri and Gavi for the highly coveted award.

At club level, he’s featured 90 times for Dortmund where he’s managed to score 10 and assist 18 from central midfield.

Even at 19, he’s managed to have his first taste of silverware, helping his side win the German Cup.
