Not Tielemans - Liverpool told to steal 'top drawer' Leicester City star worth £54m

Not Tielemans - Liverpool told to steal 'top drawer' Leicester City star worth £54m

Wilfred Ndidi is one of the best players in the world and Martin Tyler has now said that each top four side would sign him if given the chance - including Liverpool.

Liverpool have been heavily linked to sign his teammate, Youri Tielemans.

Reports recently suggested that although the Foxes will demand an enormous amount of money for Tielemans, the Reds would be willing to meet their asking price to secure the midfielder’s signature.

Ndidi would also command a huge fee, with Transfermarkt valuing him at £54m while I have a feeling Leicester would ask for more.

“Wilfred first. I think any other team would sign him, that’s the best compliment that I can pay him,” Martin Tyler Elegbete TV Sports (via All Nigeria Soccer).

“Any of the four teams above Leicester would sign him, he’s that effective at what he does.

“His stats are superb, he does it without upsetting referees too much, you know he gets the ball strongly and fairly, and that’s where everything starts from, you’ve got to have the ball to win the game, and he’s a great retriever of possession, and he’s a footballer as well.

“He’s not just a tackler. I think he’s absolutely top drawer.”

While Liverpool don't need Ndidi as they have Fabinho at the base of their midfield, they do need someone like Youri Tielemans but even though reports suggest the Reds would pay the Foxes' asking price, something tells me they wouldn't be willing to spend €70m on the Belgian.

Especially after being put off by Brighton's £50m valuation of Yves Bissouma, who I think is the perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Whoever Klopp does sign, they will need to be industrious and intelligent. Playing under the German takes more than just energy to succeed and it's actually why Adam Lallana was so good in 2016/17 before his body ultimately gave out.

The Englishman might be physically smaller than most Premier League midfielders but his footballing IQ is very high and he is willing to work his socks off for the good of his team - quite literally to his breaking point.

They also need to be able to withstand the rigours of playing 40-50 games a season which is why Naby Keita hasn't hit the heights he was expected to at Anfield although I have a sneaky suspicion he might kick on this season.
